Job Title: Business Systems Analyst V

Location: Buffalo, NY (preferred; hybrid 3 days onsite). Secondary: Pittsburgh, PA. Remote option considered but least preferred.

Hire Type: Contract Only

Pay Range : $34.61 – $57.68 per hour

Nature & Scope:

Positional Overview

The Business Systems Analyst V will play a critical role in managing and coordinating key testing activities for a major loan accounting system implementation (AFS Vision). This position is responsible for business requirements gathering, test planning and execution, defect tracking, and coordination of critical conversion events. The role requires a mix of technical and functional expertise, with a strong emphasis on structured testing methodologies and cross-functional coordination.

The successful candidate will partner closely with business stakeholders, vendors, and project leadership to ensure successful system implementation, while also supporting regulatory compliance and process efficiency.

Programs & Systems in Scope:

• Conversion from AFS Level 3 (Commercial Loan System – green screens) to AFS Vision.
• Collateral management system transition (Collate by Broadridge).
• Document preparation vendor integrations (ExpeEr, Wolters Kluwer).

Role & Responsibility:

Tasks That Will Lead To Your Success

• Lead and coordinate SIT, UAT, and end-to-end testing activities, ensuring timelines and milestones are met.
• Gather, document, and validate detailed business requirements.
• Develop and execute test scripts/cases; manage and monitor testing efforts.
• Report, track, triage, and resolve defects in collaboration with technical teams.
• Support planning and execution of dress rehearsals and live conversion events, including resource coordination and escalation management.
• Document data mapping for integrations, conversions, and acquisitions.
• Collaborate with vendors, project leads, and cross-functional teams to ensure testing and implementation success.
• Provide mentorship to junior staff in application training, testing methodology, and project execution.
• Ensure compliance with corporate technology standards, regulatory requirements, and risk controls.

Skills & Experience

Qualifications That Will Help You Thrive

• Minimum of 6 years of combined higher education and/or operational/business analytics experience.
• Proven experience in large-scale system implementations, preferably in banking or financial services.
• Strong expertise in testing coordination, defect management, and conversion event execution.
• Hands-on experience with JIRA and Zephyr for test case management.
• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present to senior management.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work autonomously or in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Subject Matter Expert experience in system conversions, preferably AFS Vision.
• Experience with collateral management and document preparation systems.
• Advanced knowledge of interfacing and integrated applications.
• Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement certification.
• Strong understanding of banking operations, compliance, and regulatory standards.
