We are seeking a dedicated Certified School Nurse (CSN) to join our educational team in Mokena, Illinois. This position is vital in ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment for students and staff.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct nursing services to students and staff, including first aid, emergency care, and chronic disease management
Conduct required health screenings (vision, hearing, etc.) and document results
Maintain accurate, confidential student health records in pliance with HIPAA and FERPA
Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and district policy
Collaborate with educators, families, and healthcare professionals to develop Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs)
Participate in IEP/504 meetings as needed
Monitor municable diseases and report to appropriate public health authorities
Promote wellness initiatives and preventive health education throughout the school munity
Ensure pliance with immunization laws and state health regulations
Serve as a medical resource and health advocate within the school setting
Required:
Valid Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Nurse endorsement
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification
Preferred:
Experience in pediatric, school, or public health nursing
Strong munication and organizational skills
Familiarity with child development and chronic condition management
