Looking for the right team leader to join us at Whole Pet! The person we hire will be outgoing, organized, attentive to detail, hard-working, reliable, and will have a passion for the health and wellbeing of dogs and cats. Our "why" fuels our passion. We believe every dog and cat deserves their best chance at a long and healthy life and that starts with healthy nutrition. 2+years of retail experience preferred (PET RETAIL EXPERIENCE A PLUS). This position requires lifting up to 40 lbs. High school graduate/GED required.

Primary Duties - (in approximate order of priority)

• Lead a team of 2-6 employees
• Engage with our team members and customers in a positive, polite and professional manner.
• Follow and ensure that all Whole Pet policies and procedures are followed.
• Advise our customers, as appropriate to their needs and objectives, on our product offerings (we will train you first) .
• Accurately process sales transactions.
• Book grooming appointments.
• Open and/or close the register and the store.
• Receive inventory shipments accurately and timely (tedious attention to detail).
• Stock shelves neatly and timely (a good workout - up to 40-pound dog food bags).
• Face shelves - keep them looking good.
• Prepare and receive inventory transfers between our shops.
• Count inventory.
• Monitor for and manage out-of-date merchandise.
• Help keep storeroom clean and organized.
• Help keep storefront clean and organized.
• Help with laundry - we use a lot of towels in grooming and self-wash.
• Monitor for and promptly report maintenance issues to management.
• Clean and sanitize self-wash stations.
• Help with promotions/display setups.

Secondary Duties -

• Complete our initial basic training and ongoing continuous learning in pet nutrition and the benefits of our products.
• Cash register is part of the job, but this is not a job where you primarily stand behind a cash register.
• Assist in carrying out merchandise for customers who need our help.
