Medical Office is seeking an enthusiastic Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with strong interpersonal and organizational skills to join our dynamic healthcare facility.
EDUCATION: Masters Degree in Nursing or a Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE: Three or more years experience as a nurse/physician assistant working with individuals with mental illness, substance use, intellectual or developmental disabilities Requires excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills Must be punctual, organized, and can multi-task, and work independently LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS: Licensed by the Michigan Department of Commerce or Professional Regulation as a Nurse Practitioner, prefer Board Certification Responsibilities * Works in collaboration with a supervising physician to evaluate, diagnose, examine, and prescribe medications for patients. * Provide psychiatric services and physical and psychosocial examinations. * Develop and manage appropriate treatment plans for patients, and provide effective management of patient care. * Responsible for providing outpatient and partial hospital program care to patients showing a change or decline in mental status, chronic or urgent medical conditions * Perform patient psychiatric evaluations, and medication reviews, take patient histories, and physicals, provide risk factor assessment, order therapeutic and diagnostic tests; and and provide consultations and care management for patients. * Prescribe medications following the clinics policy, and formulary, and within State and Federal guidelines. * Work independently and in collaboration with other members of the medical team. * Consult with physicians on cases that are beyond the scope of qualification of a nurse practitioner * Submit accurate and complete documentation in patient charts in a timely manner, meeting the clinic's documentation policies. * Provide up-to-date and scientifically backed healthcare education for patients and their support systems. * Maintain all licenses, training, and credentials to remain in good professional standing * Mange other duties as assigned by Medical Director and Management.
